Don't let the cold weather keep you stuck indoors. Winter is something to be enjoyed so embrace it. Let's face it we are in Canada and the snow and cold are inevitable so we might as well have some fun. Check below for some fun creative ways to enjoy the fluffy white stuff.

Arrowhead Skating Trail
Ontario’s best kept secret…might not be a secret anymore. The Ice Trail at Arrowhead Provincial Park has become one of the region’s most popular winter attractions, and one of the province’s most sought after winter ‘bucket list’ experiences.
Make a snowman
Build a snowman. Get creative when dressing him up. My kids use everything from rocks, smarties, carrots, buttons, bubble wrap and even olives.
Snowball fight
A Winter must is a good old fashioned snowball fight! Look for the packing snow for this one!
Tobogganing
Need something free? Find a hill and try sledding. This one you can basically go anywhere you see a hill. Find a hill that suits your comfort level and away you go.
Shovel
I have yet to meet a kid that doesn't like to shovel snow. My kids like to go out and shovel the back deck just for fun every time it snows. Need an extra hand on the walk way?
Skiing/Snowboarding
Time to hit the slopes. Great family sport that you can do together.
Snow tubing
Skiing not your thing? Try snow tubing on the giant hill for hours of fun.
Build a snow fort
Winter just isn't winter without building some sort of snow fort. Grab a plastic bin when the packing snow hits and start building.
Winter Hike
Go for a winter hike. Find a trail around you and take in the beauty all while getting some fresh air and exercise.
Paint in the Snow
Fill spray bottles with diluted water colours or you can even use food colouring and use the fresh snow to create your very own masterpiece.
