Along with all the cool programs offering virtual parties to keep you safe, we came up with some additional ideas to help celebrate your little ones special day.
Birthday party ideas
Covid safe celebration ideas
Video calls with friends, family & classmates will allow them to still see and talk to their friends. We did this for our kids and they loved it.
Put our a call for friends and family to drive by your house at a certain time to form a parade. Have them all honk and yell Happy Birthday as they drive by.
Put out a request for their friends & family members to make a special birthday wish and send a pre-recorded message.
Have a "family day" in and break out the board games and family favourite movies.
Have a 'sleep over party' with all the siblings and parents. We do this every year for each child even pre-covid, they all love it.
Let the Birthday Girl/Boy pick their favourite things to do, maybe even something you would normally say no to.
Have a 'Pamper the princess party' another of my daughter's favs. All the girls do each others hair, nails and make up.
Make a fun scavenger hunt around your house or even outside. Have them find clues and solve riddles.
If the weather is right, you can set up a kiddie pool, sprinkler or even rent a bouncy castle for the backyard.
You can fill balloons with messages or even little notes about where to find a present or a treat. They play with the balloons then as they pop they piece together the puzzle.
Another thing we do in my house on every child's birthday regardless of covid is we all bake together. I let the birthday child pick what they want to bake and we all put on our aprons!
Another tradition is to let the birthday child pick their dinner. Could be take out or they may even want Mommy's special home cooked meal.
